What this site is
Empower Santa Monica is an independent community website run by volunteers. It is not the City of Santa Monica, the Santa Monica Police Department or any other agency, and it does not send anyone out. In an emergency, call 911.
Information on the site
Events, business listings, news, police calls, weather and other information come from public sources, which are named and linked. We try to keep it accurate, but it can be out of date or wrong. Check the original source before you rely on it, and call ahead before you go somewhere.
What you post
- Report conditions, not people. No names, faces, addresses of private people, insults, threats, or calls to confront anyone.
- Only post what is true and what you have the right to share. You keep ownership of what you post and allow the site to show it.
- Moderators may edit out personal details, decline, or remove anything that breaks these rules, and may suspend accounts that keep breaking them.
Links to other sites
We link to other organizations and sites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
No warranty
The site is provided as is, free of charge, without guarantees of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the volunteers who run Empower Santa Monica are not liable for losses from using it.
